Renovating a house - part 3

One of the decisions to make on windows was "are they really that bad?" but I decided to replace all of the windows at the same time for several reasons but mostly because they would all be and look the same. Also for the cost of replacing all windows and doors in the house to A rated makes a massive visual improvement and all completed for less that £10,000.

Existing door, windows and dwarf walls

Much bigger

I had quotes from local company Tropiglaze, from Everest and from my builder as part of the complete job.

Everest were evasive about pricing and kept belittling other companies and the builder never bothered to get the quote done.

Tropiglaze were excellent, professional and got the quote back in a week, and would have started work in 6 weeks if I hadn't been waiting for 6 weeks that I was waiting for the non-existant builders quote.

Removing hideous old windows

I have to say Tropiglaze (based in Witney) are serious operators, they turn up at 7.20 in the morning when I'm about to eat my frosties and they've already unloaded the vans and have a window out as I'm leaving for work at 8.20.
