Renovating a house - part 3

Image
One of the decisions to make on windows was "are they really that bad?" but I decided to replace all of the windows at the same time for several reasons but mostly because they would all be and look the same. Also for the cost of replacing all windows and doors in the house to A rated makes a massive visual improvement and all completed for less that £10,000. Existing door, windows and dwarf walls Much bigger I had quotes from local company Tropiglaze , from Everest and from my builder as part of the complete job. Everest were evasive about pricing and kept belittling other companies and the builder never bothered to get the quote done. Tropiglaze were excellent, professional and got the quote back in a week, and would have started work in 6 weeks if I hadn't been waiting for 6 weeks that I was waiting for the non-existant builders quote. The next problem is the fence which is pretty knackered and at various heights as they've tried to avoid the original wall. I was recommended Trentwood Fencing So we've removed the old wall that was there prior to the fencing company coming. As I've paid for the new fence the neighbour has kindly helped remove the wall and has agreed to dispose of the remains. Ready to go... This is the new gate which is a miracle they've managed to make it look so good considering the odd angle and lack of space. It's better as they've put a post against the wall and then hung it from that side rather than previously handing from the fence. The most boring job in the world.
